Speaker Biography:

  • Mr. Quanyan Zhu is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Coordinated Science Laboratory at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has obtained his Master's and Bachelor's degrees from University of Toronto and McGill University, respectively and both in electrical engineering. He has been a visiting researcher at University of Waterloo, University of Avignon, University of Houston, INRIA-Sophia Antipolis and Idaho National Laboratory. His main research interests are control and optimization, game theory, machine learning, computer security, communication networks, power systems and biophysics. He is the author of the book "Game-Theoretical Modeling of WDM Optical Networks: Design, Analysis and Algorithms." He has received many awards including NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarship, University of Toronto Fellowship and Marvis Future Faculty Fellowship.
